- US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned China that Washington will not accept new industries being decimated by Chinese imports as she wrapped up four days of meetings. This was Yellen's second trip in nine months to further ease strained ties between the world's two largest economies.
- The United States will award Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co's US unit a $6.6 billion subsidy for advanced semiconductor production and up to $5 billion in low-cost government loans. TSMC agreed to expand its planned investment by $25 billion to $65 billion and to add a third Arizona plant by 2030.
- Synchron, a rival to Musk's Neuralink brain implant startup, is preparing to recruit patients for a large-scale clinical trial required to seek commercial approval for its device, its chief executive told Reuters. The company is farther along in the process of testing its brain implant than Neuralink.
- An engine cover on a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 fell off during takeoff on Sunday in Denver and struck the wing flap, prompting the Federal Aviation Administration to open an investigation. No one was injured. Here's what we know about the incident so far.
- Large amounts of climate-warming refrigerant gases from China and Turkey are being smuggled illegally into Europe, undermining a global pact to phase them out, a new report said. The gases are hydrofluorocarbons, a range of chemicals used mostly for cooling in industry and retail.

"The first person ever to run the entire length of Africa. Mission complete," the 27-year-old said. |
