SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The iPad will not hit stores until Saturday, but the race to unlock its mysteries started several weeks ago in San Luis Obispo, a picturesque college town roughly 200 miles south of Apple's Silicon Valley headquarters.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Sharp Corp said it plans to start making this year advanced 3D displays for cellphones and other mobile devices that don't require special viewing glasses, betting that demand for 3D images will grow beyond movie theatres and living rooms to portable machines.

BEIJING (Reuters) - The Foreign Correspondents Club of China said on Friday it had shut its website after a burst of hacker attacks, days after attacks on the Yahoo email accounts of some foreign journalists covering China were discovered.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Toshiba Corp plans to spend 15 billion yen ($160 million) this year to build a test production line for advanced flash memory chips, the Nikkei business daily said, sending shares of the Japanese electronics maker higher.
