U.S. small business confidence rises slightly in August
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. small business confidence rose modestly in August, suggesting the economy continued to grow at a steady clip halfway through the third quarter.
Greece says Russia picks Syria aid flight route to east of Greece
ATHENS (Reuters) - Russia plans to use an air route to the east of Greece to transport aid into Syria, meaning the use of Greek airspace for such flights is no longer an issue, a Greek government spokesman said on Tuesday.
Microsoft, Amazon video to join Disney's cloud movie service
(Reuters) - Walt Disney Co's studio unit said customers of Amazon.com Inc and Microsoft Corp's video services will get access to the collection on its cloud-based movie storage service from Tuesday.
Robot mother builds and improves its own children
Scientists from the University of Cambridge have built a mother robot that independently builds its own children and then tests their performance to inform the design of the next generation. By analyzing the data it collects from observing the child, the mother robot ensures that preferential traits are passed down to the next iteration, while letting weaknesses fall by the wayside.
