Greece's Tsipras digs in against bailout
ATHENS/BRUSSELS (Reuters) - A defiant Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras urged Greeks on Wednesday to reject an international bailout deal, wrecking any prospect of repairing broken relations with European Union partners before a referendum on Sunday that may decide Greece's future in Europe.
At least 36 die in Philippine ferry sinking, 127 survive
MANILA (Reuters) - A ferry carrying 189 passengers and crew capsized off the central Philippines in heavy waves on Thursday, killing at least 36 people but the majority of those on board were rescued, the coast guard and police said.
